Furholmen has a long history. The one you hear most about is the bathing history.
In the early 1920s, it is documented that Furholmen in Strömstad was an organized sea bath.
It had been realized that swimming in the sea was not life-threatening.
And above all, not without a doctor's supervision. People had even begun to understand that it could be healthy.
Cold bath houses began to compete with sea baths and Strömstad had a perfect bath on Furholmen.
Small boats started driving traffic out there which were then changed to larger boats as the number of guests increased.
In 1945, Birgit came who could take a little over 60 people.
She ran the line until 2012. Times change all the time and today Stjärn af Koster operates,
a name that originally comes from Koster and Kosterbårtarna in 1929, trade according to schedule summer time.
